To help reduce any swelling, itching or bruising you can apply ice to your lips afterwards using an icepack or ice cube covered with a cloth (do not apply ice direct to the skin). If you have bruised you can apply arnica cream (purchase over the counter) regularly to help it subside. Bruising and swelling is dependant on the individual you may have had fillers before and never bruised and then the next you may experience bruising or swelling. Factors such as too much caffeine, green tea, anticoagulant medications, alcohol, smoking, previous illness, previous cold/virus, skin sensitivity and even the female menstrual cycle can increase bruising, bleeding & swelling.
